Vanya Keren

Vanya Keren

@sky_kandy

Vanya’s passionate pathway led her to The Pole Project. She was immersed in the world of dance since age 3, and was a professional dancer from age 16. This paved the way to Vanya becoming a renowned yoga instructor since 2009. Her background in dance and yoga has also equipped her with an impeccable work ethic.

Vanya’s inherent ability to “mine the silences” between movements and moments is fluid and dynamic. As an instructor, she possesses the patience, tolerance, compassion, care and fun-fused-energy that is so essential in making a good teacher; while injecting each and every student with the power and inspiration to dare to go beyond themselves and achieve NEW HEIGHTS!

She entered her first Pole Factor competition in 2016 – after only 10 months of poling - and won the Pole Artiste Amateur division. Vanya also won the Pole Provocateur Amateur division at The Pole Factor 2018.

@melissa.spins

Melissa started pole dancing at the end of 2015 after seeing a video of circus pole online. She immediately googled the nearest studio and started attending classes... obviously, she’s never looked back!

Melissa feels lucky to have found a hobby that happens to keep her fit, that she’s so passionate about AND allows her to share her passion with others. She is immensely grateful to be part of the pole community - a tribe of strong women who support each other and laugh in the face of societal standards.

Benita van Aardt

Benita van Aardt

@benita066

Benita started dancing at the age of seven, experiencing a variety of dance styles including modern, tap, hip hop, ballet, amongst others. When she moved to Cape Town in 2015 her search for a dance studio guided her to pole dancing. She was immediately hooked on pole as an acrobatic sport, which still allows her to express herself in ways she sees fit.

Benita is really excited to be a part of The Pole Project tribe, as she now has an opportunity to grow as a trainer and as a student.

Travis Hornsby

Travis Hornsby

@6angryinches

Travis was drawn to pole dancing in 2012 as an alternative fitness regime, without knowing it would erupt into the passionate discipline he practices today… or that he would still have to practice doing a full push up before embarking on this vertical steel journey.

After qualifying as an instructor in 2015, he has taught both locally and internationally. Outside of the studio, Travis is a theatre and filmmaker with a keen eye for visual detail – so he’ll not be content until his students’ perfectly pointed toes are ‘big screen’ worthy!
