The Pole Project has had a year of big wins in the media…

We started the year off with a bang when, the day after our second rocking birthday party, we went into studio to show the presenters of the early morning Expresso Show a thing or two about pole dance.

Kathy then went on to make finalist of the Women’s Health annual Next Fit Star competition, scoring a load of ADIDAS goodies and a print feature in the July edition of the magazine.

Fitness Magazine online then contacted us for advice on Beginner and Advanced pole moves. It was a lot of fun putting these pieces together along with accompanying visuals. Read the ‘beginner pole moves’ piece here and the ‘advanced pole workout’ piece here.

Then it was time for The Pole Factor, and boy did we get a lot love this year!

We had so many online articles around pole dance and The Pole Factor that we can’t possibly mention them all here, but we’ll try and give you an idea… Die Burger, Netwerk24, Cape Town Magazine, Sarie, Purely Local, The Newspaper and more.

But the ones that really stood out for us were the print houses that decided to do stories on pole fitness and elected to mention our event.

The Cape Argus did a full-page feature in the LIFE section, interviewing Benita Bouwer and Anel van der Walt.

The Cape Times did a smaller write up on Kathy in the Top of the Times, but much to our delight mentioned the article on the front page of the paper AND provided pole dance news headlines on lampposts around Cape Town!

The Cape Towner (and Atlantic Sun) featured Kathy as a “Person in the City” in print and online, with a front-page mention and more news headlines on lampposts around the city.

We’re hoping to continue the momentum in 2017!
