CATEGORIES

  • The Pole Factor consists of 4 categories. There is an Amateur and Professional division in each category, except for the Pole Duets category. There will be 4 finalists in each division.
  • The contestant must perform a choreographed routine of 3-4 minutes. All performances that exceed 4 minutes will have their music cut for them.

Applicants must select one of the following categories to enter:

Amateur and Professional divisions

This category celebrates the sporty side of pole. Performances will focus on the strength, power, agility and athleticism of pole dance. Contestants will be judged on technique and execution of pole combinations.

POLE ARTISTE

POLE ARTISTE

Amateur and Professional divisions

This category celebrates the artistic side of pole. Performances must incorporate a particular dance style (e.g. lyrical, contemporary, ballet, jazz, hip-hop etc). Artistic expression and interpretation of music and movement on and off the pole is key.

POLE PROVOCATEUR

Amateur and Professional divisions

This category embraces the sensual and exotic side of pole. Contestants must wear heels for at least part of their performance. Contestants may add a striptease element and remove as many items of clothing as they wish, but no nudity is allowed.

POLE DUETS

POLE DUETS

One division only

This category is for doubles. Performances can incorporate any of the 3 styles of pole dance: acrobat, artiste or provocateur.

DIVISIONS

The judging panel will have the right to change the contestant’s division according to the video sent.

Amateur Division

  1. No handsprings and deadlifts allowed.
  2. The contestant must not have taken part in any national or international competitions in the Advanced or Professional division or higher.
  3. The contestant will be required to use 2 poles, 1 static and 1 spinning, and must demonstrate trick combinations on both.

Professional Division

  1. The contestant will be required to use 2 poles, 1 static and 1 spinning, and must demonstrate trick combinations on both.

Duets

  1. The 2 poles may be set to static or spinning.
  2. Contestants will be judged on synchronisation, theme, timing and ability to do the chosen moves according to the level you are at. Pole level or ability will not be marked down.
  3. Equal lifting is required. Contestants will be penalised if only one does all the lifting.
  4. Contestants must perform at least 60 seconds of synchronisation in total.
  5. Contestants must demonstrate use of both poles.
